Welcome to Cilla the Chicken's website! Cilla is a one year old Maran hen who has been lovingly hand reared by "mum" and "dad", Jenny & Tom, in their kitchen at Paxton Dene in Brightlingsea, Essex.
As a young chick, Cilla was surrounded by Essex accents and was always listening to Radio Essex. Now living with the rest of the hens, she has a definite "accent" of her own and doesn't sound like the other hens at all. Cilla is still a bit of a loner who loves being hand fed. She can often be found wandering around the orchard by herself, clucking away in her own inimitable style!
Never one to conform, Cilla even lays a different coloured egg to the other girls. Her egg is a dark russet brown and is shown in the above picture with an arrow.
Cilla will appear on This Morning on Monday April 20th at 12 noon.
